The Black Queen vs Apocalyptic Princess

This piece is called The Black Queen by Aly Fell.

In my mind I have renamed this picture 'Apocalyptic Princess' as it somewhat reminds me a Walking Dead sort of scenario, hence a Post Apocalyptic world where it is the survival of the fittest. I probably wouldn't figure zombies into the mix as I wouldn't want to rip them off too much.
This kick-ass woman is most likely the leader of one of the surviving parties of whatever disastrous fate has befallen the human race.
She is quick witted and has not tolerance for anyone who would threaten the group. They depend on her to stay alive and she depends on them to stay sane. Well... Almost sane. Her anger is like a flash of lightning; terrifying up close and leaving a state of destruction in its wake.

Life's Blood

This is another image by Anne Stokes called 'Life's Blood'.

This picture somewhat reminds me of the old Celtic myths of the banshee. A beautiful young woman with silver blond hair, her screech warning of imminent death. As this image looks somewhat more sinister than the typical banshee fable, as she almost looks like she has mugged a Grim reaper. It could be either that she is a hybrid or she is a banshee spirit called forth out of anger for the purpose of revenge... Or something like that.
On the other-hand, there are legends that suggest that if you are the one to see the banshee then you are the one destined to die, meaning that the depiction of the banshee or even the grim reaper could have been misinterpreted as they are the ravings of those marked by death. Perhaps banshee's act the part of the reaper for those they scream for.

Only Love Remains

This Piece is called 'Only Love Remains' by Anne Stokes (She's one of my favourite gothic artists).

The white hair, wings and garb reminds me of purity and innocence... But usually there is darkness lurking behind such a face. Whether is is a tragic past, a shameful dark 'gift' or a terrible secret; there will be something causing a glimmer of sadness in those eyes.
Moreover, even though she may posses a gift that would make her deadly to others, she is of a weak constitution and has a bleeding heart, meaning that she would've had to have been protected by someone stronger than her. Because of her gentle nature through, she would refuse the support of others in order to protect them, meaning that this person would need to be someone that she loves and feels that she cannot refuse. This introduces the idea of a sister. To be able to protect her I believe that the sister would need to be older and more ferocious; this doesn't however fit with my white innocence image though, so although the two will have similar features the older sister will have jet black hair and sharper eyes with fire and barely controlled violence simmering behind them.

Hadie's Return (.... Sounds like Disney's Hercules Part 2)

So I do realise that it has been a while since my last post and this didn't bother me. Sure blogging is like an online journal but that means that this is open for public viewing and so only some of my inner thoughts are... appropriate to share.
I didn't think that I was actually going to start writing on here again but it seams as though it's actually a way that some of my friends keep an eye on me. That might sound a little over dramatic but the truth is that I do suffer from clinical depression and social anxiety disorder.
That's right I'm cooco for Coco pops! *Mwahaha.. cough.. choke... splutter*
Anyway... Onto brighter things.
Recently I have been starting to write again, a hobby of mine that has gone neglected for many moons now so I'm quite glad that it's back. I've got to say though that it's all down to my friend at work as she has been inspiring me to write everything down, even if nothing makes sense. I've got to say that I have been enjoying this though as it takes all the jumbled up story plots and random characters in my head and shows them into a written form so I don't have to constantly obsess over them.
At present there are a few artists that I like who's creations have been inspiring me. Even if it's only the one word I think I might add a few on here and just list words, phrases or ideas that come to mind when I see them.

Weight loss and going... Vegetarian?

These days I've started to get back on tract with taking my anti-depressants and although that may have somewhat improved my overall mood however I've decided what will make me happier with myself would be to loose some weight.
Now there are several issues with this plan as I have a great weakness in regards to two of the seven sins: Sloth and Gluttony. Yep that's right I'm lazy as f**ck and love food waaay too much.

What I've decided to do is start adapting my lifestyle to suit the mentality of loosing weight and the first thing I'm going to try is adapting a vegetarian lifestyle for 2 weeks and I'm going to record the result on this here blog. Unfortunately that means that I'll have to do something I never thought I'd do and that will be to buy scales (I've avoided them like the plague for years) and bear all my measurements online. Uggg.

Challenge accepted... Dammit I'm going to miss chicken.

Inspiration and Obssession

Ok, so today topic is inspiration and Obsession.

Obsession is something that consumes me, I find something that interests or inspires me and I get so wrapped up in it that I can barely focus on anything else. Previous hobbies, interest or even earlier obsessions are forgotten in favor of the the new.

Obsessions come fairly easily for me and it's usually the same sort of things either watching anime, reading books, etc. These obsessions may seam fairly ridiculous to other people and those who don't know me may underestimate the hold that they have on me. I guess it could be considered strange and even a waste of time but the reason I get so focused on them is because usually when I get into one of my states it's because I'm looking for something. Usually this is either inspiration, a new idea or even the rediscovery of an old thought powerful enough to create something... fantastic in my head.

However, sometimes it's an emotion I'm looking for. Books, anime, manga, music they all have the potential to create strong emotions within me and sometimes I search through hours of material looking for a particular emotion. It can sometimes be something beautiful created by a story or love or friendship that makes me smile and want to hold on to the warmth for just a little longer. But sometimes it can be something excruciating. Catharsis is something that I believe can be achieved by inflicting these emotions on myself but due to the method I myself am at no real risk.

........

I guess that's enough of me trying to explain my obsessions.
Currently I've been focused on reading manga - this has been the flavor of obsession since I returned home from comic con in October. Previously, I had once tried to read a manga but couldn't seam to get into it, which of course was a real shame as there were so many stories that I wanted to discover that had yet to be turned into an anime.
Now I believe that the ferocity of the obsession is finally starting to subside. For me this means that rather than spending hours searching for something new to read or continuing on reading until sunrise I am finally able to let myself sleep at night. Which is good because my work takes a real toll if I'm tired.

What I'm searching for at the moment is inspiration.

I used to love writing stories and creating worlds filled with all the adventures and emotions that I believe can never truly belong to me. These are often in worlds created in my head that all come from one simple idea.
And THAT is what I'm searching for now. One simple idea that is capable of sparking my imagination.
It's been years since I've actually managed to write something but I don't believe that this is due to lack of inspiration but simply due to the fact that I get so caught up in NEEDING to create that the original inspiration is forgotten and so I've decided just to write. Nothing special, no new project to invent a new universe for my thoughts to escape to just to write down all my inspirations and if something is born of these thoughts alone then so be it, but that's not my main objective.

Mekakucity Actors Review

Ok so as I said in my previous entry the first few minutes of this anime confused me but that was because I hadn't really read through the plot properly... whoops. Once I got into it through I really started to enjoy it.
If you're just looking for a feel good romp with basic character's I wouldn't look to this one. Although the synopsis may suggest that its just another fantasy anime with supernaturally inclined teenagers... that isn't exactly the case. The farther I got through this anime the darker it got, some of the characters I knew became almost unrecognisable due to revelations of their pasts and new plot twists and the feeling the anime had given me in the beginning had become almost sinister.
Rant over! Basically it was an anime that I enjoyed watching but the ending left me with quite a few questions that I don't think will be answered in a 2nd season.
